There are still plenty of go-gos and other girlie clubs, but they no longer represent the entirety of the city’s nightlife. City sightseeing, like visiting temples, markets, and museums is are the main activities in Pattaya, aside from the nightlife. We started our trip in Bangkok, where Mr. Prassert our tour guide, met us. He was on time and the van was clean and well-maintained. Mr. Prassert was our guide for the 4 days we spent in Bangkok. He was helpful, kind, and willing to accommodate our pee and coffee breaks.
Some of these bars are in a lager beer bar complex and have no walls whatsoever. There are usually several to a dozen bars all located under one roof. These beer bars usually share facilities such as pool tables and bathrooms with the other bars in the complex. While you don’t find it as often these days, bar girls will often challenge you to a game of Connect 4 or Jackpot, both to pass the time and be social – and to win a drink or two off you. With the bar girls cat calling and grabbing the passersby into their bar, Soi 6 can shock a first timer or unsuspecting tourist who thought it would be fun to go and have a look.
While nowhere close to the number and quality of rooftop bars you’d find in Bangkok, there are a couple of sky bars in Pattaya that might be worth checking out. These are good places to relax with a cocktail while the sunsets in the distance. If you find yourself overwhelmed by all the attention and choice, just find a bar where you can sit down for a drink while looking out over the street. Buy a bar girl a drink and have a chat while surveying the other bars and where you want to go next. Then do the same thing at the next bar as you work your way down the street, that is if you can make it that far along before you make a new friend or find your new favorite bar on Soi 6. Avoid the touts coming up to you trying to get you into their bar with a list of drinks or a ping-pong show.
It comes complete with a relaxing outdoor area and a cosy lounge. Enjoy a modern, clean hostel, internet, a pool, and 24-hour security. Soi 13/3 is called Pattayaland Soi 1 and is home to X-Boys Pattaya Show and Cupidol Bar. A narrow alley about halfway down the street connects it to Soi 13/4 – Pattayaland Soi 2 – which is home to Cats A Go-Go and The Classroom Ago-go.
Each month on the night of the full moon, famous DJs, local expats, Thais and tourists head to Paradise Beach Club to party and dance all night long. This three-star hotel wins our vote for where to stay in Naklua. It is conveniently located near Wong Amat Beach and is close to top tourist attractions, restaurants and cafes.
This nightclub is at the end of Walking Street and more popular with Russians. Strangely, Indians are not allowed yet they can be seen everywhere inside. If you are a tourist, it’s a fun walk and you’ll even see some families and couples who are there just out of curiosity. You can enter any bar to have a look and leave it if you don’t like.
Optional drop off transfer can be arranged by our guide. Pattaya is celebrated for its nightlife and offers everything from dance clubs to pubs, upmarket sky bars, and cabarets. Walking Street in South Pattaya is the busiest party area. Book a hotel in this area to be a few blocks from your room after a night out. Walking Street stretches for a kilometer and provides every type of nightlife attraction you can imagine. Stay in North Pattaya to party at Soi 6 for the beer bars and some of the city’s more notorious clubs.
Girls, shows, games are major points for night tourists. Cabaret revues featuring kathoeys (male-to-female transsexuals) are also very renowned in Pattaya. Pattaya Walking Street is the central night activities.
